Preparing to Film

actors-
The main role will be filled by a woman. By deciding to have an actress portray the role of detective, we are hoping to provide a fresh, modern look at the film noir genre.

costumes-
The detective will be wearing a coat to help the audience easily categorize her as a detective. To further shape the character, she may also be wearing a fedora or something to that extent.

props-
We will need a car to film the driving scene, preferably an older model to fit with our film noir genre. We will also include props, like a magnifying glass and messy desk, to help build the plot as well as the character.

locations-
We are choosing to film on 5th Ave due to its night life and streets lined with shops and buildings. It will provide the perfect setting for the lifestyle we want to be assumed for the detective.

dates/times-
We plan on meeting during some afternoon and nights. We might use a sunset shot, so we are hoping to film in the late afternoon into the night.

scripts-
We only have one main character, so there will not be extensive scripts. Furthermore, we plan for the main character to only have one or two lines, to focus more on the music and its impact on the audience.

film equipment-
We will likely use a phone or nicer camera to film. Besides that, we will borrow a tripod from class to help film effective shots that are high-quality.
